Our team is proud to welcome Chanté Coleman to the board of directors of The Commons. Chanté is the director of the Choose Clean Water Coalition at the National Wildlife Federation. Her work is focused in advancing the Coalition’s work to protect the Chesapeake Bay by leading the coordination of and fostering collaboration between more than 230 member organizations across the watershed spanning six states and the District of Columbia. By working to create a collective advocacy voice for the watershed, Chanté leads the community in achieving water policy that improves the Bay.
Chanté is also a national leader on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice (DEIJ). She co-leads the National Wildlife Federation’s DEIJ Steering Committee and works to ensure the Chesapeake clean water movement engages a larger and more inclusive cross-section of the public. Ms. Coleman attended California Western School of Law where she graduated Cum Laude and started her career in clean water advocacy at the legal clinic at San Diego Coastkeeper. Chanté has her bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Princeton University.
Under Chanté’s leadership our team will gain greater capacity to gather vital product feedback from members of the Bay restoration community. Further, we will benefit from her knowledge and skillsets in communications and outreach. Chanté we are honored to have you as part of the team and look forward to working with you to maximize the reach and impact of the Commons.
