We are honored to announce that our Executive Director, R. John Dawes, Jr., was appointed to the Chesapeake Science and Technical Advisory Committee as an At-Large Appointee. Since its creation in December 1984, STAC has worked to enhance scientific communication and outreach throughout the Chesapeake Bay watershed and beyond. STAC members represent all sectors involved in Chesapeake Bay restoration, including states, academia and research institutions, and nonprofit organizations.
As a member of this technical committee, John will provide a perspective and voice that captures the experience of building systems to collect and deliver data from diverse data sources and collectors into the hands of decision-makers. John was appointed as a member in September 2023 and will serve a four-year term, expiring in 2027.
